Professional Teeth Whitening in Framingham, MA

Teeth can experiences discoloration and yellowing due to a number of factors, including smoking, drinking dark-colored liquids, improper oral hygiene, aging, certain medications, and more. Every day, a thin coating, called pellicle, forms over the enamel of your teeth and picks up stains and other particles. The enamel of your teeth also has small pores that can pick up stains. Teeth whitening is an effective and simple option to remove stains from teeth and enhance a smile. Restoring teeth to a whiter shade only requires a trip to the offices of Mark Fried, DMD.

PREPARATION FOR WHITENING

Before we can perform the treatment, we must make sure your mouth is in proper condition to receive the whitening. We must examine your mouth, teeth, and gums to make sure decay, cavities, periodontal disease, fractures, and other factors will not impede on the process. If anything is found, it must be fixed before whitening can take place. When these problems are addressed – if there are any found – the doctor will photograph your teeth and plan the treatment. The dentist will also clean your teeth, removing any bacteria, food particles, or other substances that may contribute to staining or hinder the whitening process.

TYPES OF WHITENING

We offer both in-office and take-home whitening treatments. In-office procedures allow our team to use a high-concentrated peroxide gel. We will apply the gel to the surface of your teeth and let it settle. We will monitor the treatment to ensure everything proceeds correctly. We will schedule a follow-up appointment that will take place two weeks later. In the meantime, we will provide whitening trays to wear in between the appointments. The doctor will instruct you how to wear the trays and for how long.

Our take-home kit can be provided to those who cannot stay for a regular dental appointment. The kits are easy, reliable, and simple to use. Our doctor will instruct you on how to properly use the kit before sending you home with one. Generally, you will simply apply a gel to custom dental trays and place them around your teeth for a specified amount of time. You can expect to see results within 14 to 21 days.

For those who do not want to deal with the take-home kits, we can also supply white strips.
