Cosmetic dentistry can help repair or enhance your smile. Dr. Fried offers a wide range of cosmetic options to correct any smile irregularities. Our services include:
Teeth whitening – No matter how thoroughly you clean your teeth, the foods, drinks and medications we ingest take their toll over time. We offer professional in-office and at-home whitening to help our patients gradually lighten and brighten their smile with reduced sensitivity. Over the counter whitening products can be less effective than professional whitening and the application trays and strips can be uncomfortable and difficult to keep in place. At our office we will create custom application trays to fit your bite, and provide you with the same whitening gel some practices apply in the office. By whitening your teeth at home, you can adjust the color more gradually, and patients often report experiencing less sensitivity.
Porcelain veneers – Veneers offer a smile repair option for patients who are looking for a minimally invasive smile repair option. Veneers are a thin, custom fitted sheath of porcelain that covers any smile irregularities without surgery or straightening. The material will be blended to match your surrounding teeth, covers cracks, gaps or stains, and provides protection for teeth that have been weakened by decay. Dr. Fried also offers his patients Componeers. This composite resin veneer option can be completed in one visit, instead of two and is longer lasting than cosmetic bonding.
Cosmetic bonding – For patients who are interested in the restored look of veneers but have minimal damage or discoloring, cosmetic bonding can be a good restoration option. Bonding uses a layer of resin applied to damaged or discolored teeth to give your smile uniformity.
Invisalign – Invisalign is a brand of clear braces. Clear braces use plastic alignment trays to gradually shift teeth into place without the necessity of metallic brackets and wires. This is often a great option for working professionals who wish to align their teeth.
If your tooth is chipped, cracked or missing, we believe it’s our job to full restore your smile. That’s why we offer restoration dentistry that provides cosmetic renewal as well. Our cosmetic restoration options include:
Tooth colored fillings – Tooth colored fillings are made from a resin similar to that used in cosmetic bonding. This resin is applied to the tooth in a gelatinous state which requires less tooth preparation than the traditional amalgam fillings. Amalgam fillings are shaped and hardened outside the mouth, and then bonded to the tooth which often requires more of the tooth to be removed in order to bond to the filling. Tooth colored fillings blend more naturally with the tooth’s color, and allow us to keep more of your natural tooth.
Porcelain crowns – Crowns are used to restore the biting surface of your tooth while preserving even a small amount of natural tooth. Porcelain crowns can be made to match the surrounding teeth, and often feel more natural than amalgam crowns. Porcelain crowns are also a great option for patients with metal allergies or sensitivities.
Dental implants – To full restore one tooth or a full arch, dental implants provide support for permanent replacement teeth. Because implants below the gum line function like the root of your tooth, gum tissue and bone density are retained, and permanent replacement teeth can be affixed to these posts. These dental prosthetics look and feel like your own teeth, and can be cleaned like natural teeth.
