Invisalign® – A Nearly Invisible Tooth Realignment System

You may or may not know we’ve been providing orthodontic services in the office for more than five years now and recently have become certified in the Invisalign technique.

Invisalign System Invisalign is a way to straighten your teeth without braces. It uses a series of hard plastic, computer-designed mouthguard-like trays, each giving incremental movement towards the desired result.

Its best indications are for correcting crowding or for minor tooth movement in adults who prefer to avoid the disadvantages of regular braces.

If you’ve wanted to straighten your teeth, but haven’t wanted braces, you may want to look into Invisalign.

You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position your orthodontist or dentist has prescribed.

Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

The aligners are made through a combination of your orthodontist’s or dentist's expertise and 3-D computer imaging technology.

Oral Cancer Screening

We’ve begun using an in office oral cancer screening liquid which when painted on the suspicious area is 95% accurate in detecting oral cancers.

This simple, painless and quick test can highlight a problem long before you would notice symptoms. Possible symptoms of oral cancer include a sore that does not resolve itself within two or three weeks, swelling, or mouth pain.

Tray systems, which cost you half as much initially, also can work well. And, if you save the trays, come touch up time (which for any system is 1-3 years afterward), you simply need to purchase a little more gel (approximately $40) instead of spending the full fee again.
